  • And your point is Robby? People felt horrible about that too and we raised mega millions in aid funding for that too. There is no limit to our compassion - and we are capable of feeling compassion for the Japanese just as we did for those victims in the 2004 tsunami.

  • Well said Soutenly. I would say the Japanese have more than proven they have risen above what happened during WWII and have more than made up (in ways they could) for what happened. The Japanese of today are NOTHING like they were back then - which was about 70 years ago.

  • Hear hear! You know, one thing that really impresses me about this is how the buildings were built well enough to withstand an 8.9 earthquake. If only Haiti had the same sort of construction - the death toll there would have been far less.

  • There's a lot people don't know about Chernobyl that if they DID know, they'd be horrified about this. Now, this reactor is different than the one in Chernobyl and probably a hell of a lot better constructed - considering.

  • I'd be more afraid of a quake in the Cascade Trench than I am with the one in southern CA. A major quake in the Cascade Trench will rival that one that happened in 2004 near Sumatra. Mother Nature is in her purging mood. We deserve it too.
